Hello,

I have been the owner of a new EXPEDIT TV shelf for three days now, and since I still need to find a place for my AV receiver in the middle compartment, I am considering mounting the TV (Philips 42PFL7606K) on the middle shelf of the unit.
I have two questions regarding this:

1. Will the TV (13 kg (29 lbs)) hold securely on the middle beam as shown in the product picture, or does the entire setup need to be attached to the wall behind it?

2. How would this be best implemented?

Best regards and thank you in advance

Hello,

Quote from Ikea: "Uppleva TV wall mount is a good addition. Suitable for most televisions from 24" to 55".
This piece of furniture must be secured to the wall using the included bracket."

The board supports the 13 kg (29 lbs).

Personally, I would always decide individually whether to attach something to the wall or not. How stable or wobbly is it? How does it react to a gentle push? Are there children running around the house or climbing on everything...? This is not a recommendation, but simply describes my personal approach to risk.
