Hello everyone!
How can an artificial stone wall be created in our living room?
Is there a kind of modular system that can be glued or screwed onto the wall?
I am looking for creative ideas!

But it doesn't matter anyway, since the house is already sold So, for moving into the new property, you basically sell your current house "on the move," meaning before the finishing touches are completed?

So, when moving into the new property, you're basically selling your current house "on the fly," that is, before the process is fully completed? Almost. The house was completed about 4.5 years ago – around the same time as my separation. Then I spontaneously bought a condo, which will be officially sold again next Monday, so I can start on the new house in August.
As I always say here: choosing the right property for the current life situation. And making a good profit with each sale.
Crazy...

As I always say here, the property should fit the life situation. That’s exactly how I do it too.

And with every sale, I’ve also made a good profit. As a tenant, that naturally doesn’t work for me.

That was a standard slate wall cladding from the home improvement store. You can find it at any large DIY retailer, like Obi, etc. (around 30€/m² (3 USD/ft²)). Use a good flexible adhesive!

We have something similar: the same system, but with more colorful natural stone... I can’t even remember exactly which kind, but it’s quite well known and available in all the big stores.
Important: one type is 4 cm (1.6 inches) thick, the other only 2 cm (0.8 inches). So the thinner one is lighter.
It creates a very nice effect, better than flat 2D methods.

This is how it looks, for example, with slate. That’s really a nice touch. I’m planning to decorate the wall behind my living room furniture, which is in black and white, with this after moving in. Should anything special be considered regarding the substrate? I’m thinking of applying it either directly onto a Q2 level plaster or having the painter, who will be there anyway, install at least a painter’s fleece wallpaper beforehand. He will do that on the other walls anyway, and it might be a good idea for a potential period after the slate tiles are installed.
