Hello everyone, I am currently looking into the Ikea Pax system and have a specific question: Are there versions of the Ikea Pax wardrobe available with special or unusual surface materials? I’m not referring to the standard colors or melamine finishes, but rather to unique surfaces like matte wood effects, real wood fronts, special paints, or even surfaces with distinct textures or tactile qualities. If so, it would be great if you could provide examples or advise what to watch for when purchasing if I want a more exclusive surface instead of the standard option. Thanks in advance for your experiences and tips!

The standard Pax doors are all melamine-coated or painted. Real wood is not available at Ikea. You can use third-party suppliers, but you should pay attention to the type of hinges and thickness.

It almost seems like customers are being pushed towards accessories and external solutions.

That might be the case, but I also wonder: Are there any concrete examples where users have implemented special surface finishes? For example, with films, paint coatings, or even applied real wood veneers? I’m interested in how practical these customizations are and what challenges might arise.
