There are drafts throughout our house. Therefore, we had a blower door test conducted, which surprisingly showed good results. For the professionals: only 0.83 1/h.

However, the thermal imaging camera revealed significant heat loss around the window reveals. Our energy consultant recorded temperatures below 12.6°C (55°F) with an outdoor temperature of 20°C (68°F). Should this be considered a defect? The windows still have one year of warranty remaining.

I believe that during the warranty period, this is often not a problem. At this stage, many companies are still willing to cooperate. Later on, it becomes more difficult because the hidden defect must then be demonstrated.

We always had significant issues with the new windows. There were drafts in all corners and edges. The window installer came several times, but the problem only improved temporarily. That’s why we decided to have a blower door test done. This way, the issue was identified, and it was located between the window and the wall.
