Hello everyone, the offer from my general contractor includes the installation of 2 inspection shafts, and I’m wondering when these are actually necessary?

Are there any advantages? It’s not exactly cheap, so I would prefer to skip them if they’re not required (especially with soil class 5-6).

PS. I will of course discuss this with the general contractor at the next meeting, but I would like to get some second opinions in advance.

In case of a blockage, you can flush the system yourself very quickly without having to call a professional. For this reason, we have two inspection chambers and one handover chamber. I would definitely recommend having at least one chamber.

Otherwise, what does he say about why he insists on having two and where exactly they would be located? Asking usually doesn’t cost anything, and the answer is often reasonable and understandable.

Thank you for the response! Now I understand why it can actually be reasonable.

I have an appointment with the general contractor in about two weeks and will clarify it with him then. I was just wondering why something like this is done in the first place.
