Hello everyone,

Due to the allegedly undersized sewer system, the municipality requires a private road on a large private property (around 15 plots) to have a water-permeable surface.

Often, sand and gravel mixtures are used in this context, similar to those found in parks.

Are there any alternatives, especially regarding paving?

I would prefer a “solid” road.

Best regards,
Thomas

Unfortunately, the "jack of all trades" does not exist 😉

I actually have no clue. Especially what exactly water-retentive means... But can't you lay down filter gravel or crushed stone and then put eco-friendly paving on top? Or use those "paving fitters" where gravel or something similar is placed underneath as well? As I said, I'm a complete beginner, but I'm currently looking into pathway surfaces that ideally don’t allow water to accumulate...

There is permeable asphalt.
I am not sure if that is sufficient to meet the requirement of being "water-retentive."
