Hello everyone,

I am currently planning the renovation of an existing house using timber construction. From the first floor upwards, I am considering a wooden façade. According to the development plan, the façade can have a light reflectance value of 80%-100%. Could someone tell me where I can find the light reflectance value of wood or how it can be determined or specified?

Thank you and best regards

The Light Reflectance Value (LRV) is not related to the material itself.
The so-called Light Reflectance Value measures the brightness of a color shade and indicates how much energy in the visible light spectrum is reflected by the facade: the value for black is 0, and for white it is 100.
Looking at a standard color chart for facade paints for reference, I wouldn’t immediately know of any untreated facade wood color that would match.

Thank you for your feedback.
I will probably need to speak with the relevant authority to clarify whether a wooden facade is even permitted.

At first glance, I don’t see any problem with it – it just needs to be properly painted...
