Hello everyone,
For our future living room, we are looking for a parquet floor. Unfortunately, the three parquet installers I have already contacted don’t have anything suitable to offer. However, there is also the option that we buy the material ourselves and have them install it.
Below are example photos in the order of our preferences.
Do you know of any brands or shops where I might find something? Preferably not at sky-high prices.
The last photo shows a mosaic parquet at friends’ place, which is larger than the 16cm (6 inches) size. That would also be interesting for us if we don’t find anything among the other options.
Looking forward to your tips.

That won’t work. Installing such patterns is far from easy and only for true experts. It’s costly. There is no click-engineered wood option for something like this. There’s no simple ready-made solution. Then let’s just skip the first photo. The floor installers have experience with mosaic parquet at 16cm (6.3 inches). Why shouldn’t they be able to do the second image (cubes without strips) or, like with friends, somewhat larger cubes as trained floorers? Wouldn’t the work actually be less if the cubes are simply larger instead of 16cm (6.3 inches)? I don’t see the problem there, but of course I’m an amateur and open to being corrected.
All I’m asking is where I can find the material. The contractor can then decide for themselves whether they feel confident taking on the job and at what cost.

Buchsbaum0666 Jun 2024 11:25You can get oak parquet in various styles at affordable prices from the company Spacva in Croatia. As far as I know, they had a sales office in the Czech Republic. Otherwise, just inquire directly. They can also ship pallets via freight forwarders.
I like to combine such opportunities with a nice holiday on the Adriatic Sea.
Croatia offers a wide range of natural wood parquet. Prices are significantly lower than here locally.

In Croatia, there is a lot of natural wood parquet. Is there parquet made from materials other than wood? One more tip is Haro. Locally, for example, Siessl offers special deals sometimes up to 80% below regular price. Probably not mosaic parquet, but other special woods and formats.

Buchsbaum0666 Jun 2024 12:00There is also a well-known Dutch auction house where you can occasionally find bulk lots of good quality items.
Please search for it yourself, as I’m not allowed to share links here.
On June 24th, there will be large lots of oak parquet flooring in various designs.
Hungarian Point Caramel 725x130x14mm (28.5x5.1x0.55 inches) engineered parquet, 100.04m² (1,077 sq ft), tongue and groove system, lacquered, brushed, micro 4V bevel, suitable for underfloor heating, 3 pallets.
Currently, 100m² (1,076 sq ft) is priced at 359 euros including VAT and fees. The price may rise, but this could be a good opportunity for some bargains.
Just a tip!

Are there types of parquet other than wood?
Solid wood means hardwood. No carrier layer, no engineered parquet.
For you specifically! Solid wood, or natural wood, is parquet made from a single piece. You can sand it down by about 2mm (0.08 inches). It does not have a click system but is glued directly to the subfloor.

So you mean solid wood flooring versus engineered wood flooring (two- or three-layer, but also made from natural wood)?
