Hello everyone,
Our bathroom is almost completely finished, but I’ve come across a problem that’s been bothering me.
We chose a bathtub because of the kids, but we actually use it for showering about 90% of the time. For this, we need a shower screen, but finding a solution raises some questions. A glazier friend mentioned that a custom-made solution would be very expensive, and our budget is limited. The issue with the drywall enclosure can be seen in the pictures.

Does anyone have an idea for how to implement this or a tip on achieving an attractive look within a reasonable budget?

Even though I don’t think 1,000 EUR is a small amount of money at all… here it’s well invested.
If you try to handle plexiglass yourself, you’ll want glass anyway after a few years.
Buying cheap often means buying twice. Unfortunately, that’s how it is.

Could you take another look at acrylic glass? I find it at least visually more premium than plexiglass or polycarbonate. I think it should be possible to glue it...Plexiglass is acrylic glass. Plexiglass is just the brand name. If the budget is currently too tight for a glass solution, I would suggest using a shower curtain for the time being until there is enough budget for glass.
