Hello,

we want to build a single-family house and have contacted various developers to receive offers. The offers are now slowly coming back, except for one national company (O..a) that wants to charge us a flat fee of 1500.- to prepare an offer.

What do you think about such a company?

Best regards, Polle 1967

In short: Nothing at all!

I believe there are so many companies on the market that you shouldn’t have to pay for a quote.

Yep, I completely agree.
Have you emailed your local construction companies?
Forget it, most of them aren’t very responsive to emails because the people who check them are often busy… they’re working, after all 😉 Call them, arrange an appointment, and follow up!

Hello,

We have also encountered such "candidates" during our search.

These were immediately eliminated – sorry, where do these company owners actually live?

If they don’t even consider it necessary to provide quotes, it’s clear they don’t need me as a paying customer either...

Regards,

Dirk

Hello construction expert,
Last year we visited several houses with the builder and had a long, detailed conversation with them, informing them that we also want to build a house this year. We also spoke with the builder by phone and asked about a quote. Unfortunately, it was never mentioned that the quote would be chargeable. Otherwise, we would not have gone to the trouble of sending them our requirements.
