Hello,
My wife has already ordered curtains, and my task is to find the suitable curtain rods. The problem is that beyond a certain length, the rods become unstable because they are not made from a single piece and are therefore joined in the middle. We are talking about rods with a length of 2.40 m (7 ft 10 in), which means 2x 1.2 m (4 ft). The advice to provide additional support in the middle fails because we have a continuous roller shutter box, and it’s difficult to install a wall plug there (while on many other websites, this does not seem to be an issue or concern??). In addition, I have to be careful because there is an electrical cable going to the shutter motor, located about 20 cm (8 in) from the window reveal. This means I cannot only avoid adding a third support with a wall plug, but I also have to position the left and right supports at the correct height to avoid hitting the electrical cable...
I would rather avoid ceiling mounting because I think hanging curtain rods look unattractive. We both do not want a curtain track, but it is not completely out of the question.
Does anyone have an idea for our installation situation with a 2.4 m (7 ft 10 in) curtain rod – stable without a third support? We would also like to have double curtain rods. Stainless steel material is preferred to give a high-quality look.
PS The floor-to-ceiling windows/sliding doors are 1.96 m (6 ft 5 in) wide by 2.18 m (7 ft 2 in) high, with a room height of 2.58 m (8 ft 6 in). Everything is in the finished state (the picture is still from the shell construction phase).

I was looking for something like that years ago but finally found a solution.
After moving into the new house, I listed the rods on e*** classifieds.
And what are you using now? Or no curtains/drapes anymore?

Are the curtain rods hollow inside?
If so, it might be possible to insert something as reinforcement through both curtain rods. Yes, I actually thought the same! Otherwise, I would try to get the rod as a custom length.
