Hello everyone,
I need to get 2 shower enclosures (each 120cm (48 inches)) installed:
- Walk-in for the main bathroom
- Sliding door for the guest bathroom
Which brand or supplier did you choose? How thick should the glass be?
At the hardware store, prices range from 300 to 1000 euros.
On eBay, I find offers starting at about 150 euros (Far East seller, shipping from Germany).

What has your experience been like?
Thank you for your answers.

Schulte Alexa Style 2.0 with 120cm x 90cm (47 inches x 35 inches) glass walls including sliding door. It was offered at Globus with a 20% discount, so purchased for €479 at Hornbach with a lowest price guarantee and free delivery.

I hired a local glazier. It wasn’t very expensive, but it was made to measure and really high quality.

May I ask how it is designed and what you paid?
I have a quote from a (nearly) local carpenter for a frameless glass swing door, 8mm tempered safety glass with stainless steel handles (77x208cm (30x82 inches)) plus fixed glazing on a masonry parapet (55x58cm (22x23 inches)), including delivery and installation, for about 1,200 EUR.
I thought that was quite expensive.

I would also be interested in this.

We plan to install a shower niche (130cm (51 inches) wide) with a swinging door in the new house in July.

So far, we have the low-cost eBay/Amazon model from impex_bad in our selection: Alcova 8mm for about 350 EUR excluding installation, and the more expensive Toura 8mm from Schulte for 1,174 EUR excluding installation.

I will probably also ask the local glazier again, but I have no idea what price to expect there. Can anyone share their experience?

Sorry, I somehow missed your question...

We have a walk-in shower with a fixed panel 90cm (35 inches) wide and 210cm (83 inches) high, plus a double swing door with lift-and-lower mechanism, 100cm (39 inches) wide and 210cm (83 inches) high, all made of 8mm (0.3 inch) laminated safety glass (VSG) including a nano-coating and flush-mounted fittings. The total cost was about 1800 EUR. What I learned is that the fittings have a big impact on the price. Without the flush-mounted design and with just one large door instead of two smaller ones without the lift-and-lower feature, the cost would have been around 1100 EUR.
