I’m not sure if this is the right place, but does anyone have experience with the prices for garage doors?

We are considering either 5 meters (16.4 feet) or 5.25 meters (17.2 feet).

Is there a big price difference?

How long did it take for the service to arrive?

I’d rather not talk about that...

I think it was 2 or even 3 weeks. But I had a new drive unit installed right away.

If you can live with it....

I prefer to support local suppliers and usually receive better service, among other advantages.

Go with Teckentrup; it’s a step above Hörmann and an industrial door doesn’t cost much more.

Hörmann is a big name, but when it comes to service and usually also price and quality, a local supplier is often the better choice.
To me, Teckentrup is the more recognized name; Hörmann is more in the (high price) consumer segment. Are there even "local suppliers"—meaning those who don’t just install big-name products under a white label?

I would also only choose an industrial door. Ideally with a shaft drive and as a fast opener.
I see a real difference between a shaft drive and a chain drive—that’s a “professional” version. Unfortunately, the original poster isn’t sharing details about the overall project, but I’m guessing it’s a single-family home—do you need that there? Back to the basic question:

To question 1: prices don’t just vary by width. What exactly do you want: sectional door, roller door, pedestrian door, what style?
To question 2: how do you park: same direction or opposite, with or without a recessed track for waste bins or children’s vehicles in between?
[You can see: it makes sense not to gather details piecemeal like a squirrel here, but to present the entire project altogether.]

The Hörmann dealer is 5 km (3 miles) from me, and the Hörmann factory is 20 km (12 miles) away. It doesn’t get much more local than that.

Here around Arnold-Georg-Stadt, we also have plenty of Berry gates, and even more FEFI. From my chapter on window manufacturers, I know that there are many white-label gate manufacturers, which can easily give homeowners the impression that they are dealing with a local gate builder. The same goes for fences, by the way.

I’m going to use this thread to also ask about the height.
With a width of 5.5m (18 feet), is 212.5cm (7 feet) still comfortable to use, or should you really go for 225cm (7 feet 5 inches)?
