Ingo Kommen3 Jun 2012 14:26I personally find the requested 6,000 EUR definitely too expensive.
Just ask the fee calculation which fee schedule was used for this. On what basis did the 6,000 EUR come together at all?
If the surveyor has enough work, they will hardly negotiate, but if they are looking for jobs, you can negotiate with anyone!

The survey of our plot, which is just under 800 m² (8,600 ft²), cost 1,700 €. This means the surveyor also handles both fine and rough staking out of the excavation pit. I have no idea what would be different because of the subdivision of the property. Maybe you should ask the surveyor to explain that to you.

Bauexperte4 Jun 2012 10:13Hello,
The surveying costs can only be marginally negotiated, as they *must* comply with the HOAI (official fee regulation), which applies to all German federal states. I cannot assess the amounts mentioned, but I assume not all service phases have been completed and invoiced for this construction project yet. Usually, the entire surveying process—from the preliminary site plan to the final survey (after completion of the construction project)—for a “typical-sized” single-family house costs between €2,000 and €3,000 net; the subdivision survey costs an additional approximately €800.
Therefore, I suggest you ask your surveyor to explain how this large amount is calculated or whether possibly a mistaken extra “0” slipped into the invoice for the subdivision survey.
Kind regards

the survey for subdividing a property is supposed to cost around 6,000 euros. Does anyone know if the surveying fees can be negotiated outside the official fee schedule?
