ᐅ Floor plan of a prefabricated house as a template?

Hello
We want to build a house with an architect and directly hire the trades ourselves, so no general contractor or similar. We really like the floor plan of a prefabricated house, but it needs to be slightly modified—made a bit larger, with some minor changes to the layout. However, not drastically different.

Is it acceptable to do this and then share the plan here for further advice on optimization, or is that not common practice?

Best regards

The number of ways to divide a rectangle into six parts is finite ;-)

Or it reminds me of the question: how many rectangles are shown here

Regarding the topic: of course, you can use the floor plans as they are. That’s what model homes are partly for 🙂 However, you need to consider for yourself whether that makes sense. The floor plan always has to fit the house, the location, and the occupants.
