Hello everyone,

I am also looking for someone with experience regarding funding for soundproof windows.

The building permit indicates that our property is located in noise level zone V. It refers to DIN 4109, Table 10. Unfortunately, I could only find the version from 1989. Can someone tell me how to find out if there is a more recent edition?

Required sound insulation values:
Bedrooms 50 dB
Living rooms 45 dB
Office rooms 40 dB
In addition, the installation of window-independent ventilation systems in bedrooms is mandatory.

While searching for window soundproofing classes, I came across the website "energieheld," where I read something about funding.

In our case, the noise level zone V is due to a railway track. According to that website, the contact point for funding is the regional branch of the Federal Railway Authority. I have already found the contact details for the nearest branch office (Cologne).

My questions are:
- Has anyone applied for this before?
- Is it worthwhile, or is the time and effort not worth it?
- How should the request be formulated?

Controlled residential ventilation with heat recovery will be installed in all rooms on all floors. Additionally, triple insulating glazing with laminated safety glass on the outside is planned, with a construction of about 8/12/4/12/4 and a frame depth of approximately 82 mm (3.2 inches), possibly 90 mm (3.5 inches). We planned this independently of the "noise level zone V" requirement but it should already meet the building permit regulations.

Of course, it would be nice to receive additional funding beyond that.

Thank you and best regards

Does no one have any tips or experience with this topic? That’s a shame.
I’ll give them a call, but I’d like to be a bit better prepared for the conversation. 😉

Who would know that? Funding is generally a voluntary benefit.

Better to go in "unprepared" – that way your contact on the phone feels appreciated and is more willing to help.

Someone who has been in the same situation and has already done it. I'm surely not the first person to face such conditions in the building permit / planning permission. 😉

Conditions are one thing, voluntary subsidies are something completely different.

It is a misconception to believe or hope that the forum can answer every possible question 😉

So is it better not to ask the question in the first place? Let’s leave it at that, it doesn’t lead anywhere anyway.
