Hello,

We are currently planning the kitchen and the question came up: traditional built-in oven or elevated oven? The current stove in the old house has a standard oven at a low level.
It is only used a few times (roughly 10 times) per month for quick frozen meals (pizza, fish, etc.) or reheating bread rolls. There are no regular baking sessions like daily cakes. We would also like to have a pull-out oven rack now.
What experiences have you had with your ovens?

Our gut feeling agrees with what you’re saying. Unfortunately, we vaguely remember a negative comment from a former good acquaintance, but nothing concrete. It could be that they didn’t have a wood-fired oven, but we don’t remember for sure.
Since a lot of questions come up in these discussions and interesting information emerges, that was my reason for asking.

Ours is still low.
With a toddler, not enjoyable at all... O_o

So, from now on, it will be installed higher.

Are there any arguments in favor of a deep foundation?

You gain storage space at eye level or work surface height. Both are likely to be used more often than the oven.

I still prefer it above because I am tall and always want to look inside...

I would rather consider installing the dishwasher at counter height since it is used several times a day, unlike the oven, which is used only every few days. If you have enough space, you can of course have both installed at counter height.

You only need it once to throw your back out.

No, seriously: when you’re older, it’s more practical to have the oven at eye level.
