Hello everyone,

Is it possible to skim coat defined XPS boards instead of applying a plaster finish? If yes, which products can be used for this?

Thank you

You want to leave them as a rough structure? Unprotected? Or do you plan to glue facing bricks on? Or install wood cladding in front? What’s the plan? Which filler are you considering? Avoid using exterior gypsum-based filler. EP filler would adhere, but it’s very expensive. Karsten

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the XPS boards will be installed indoors. So, I’m looking for an alternative to plastering, if that makes sense. Or is it better to use bonding plaster first and then plaster afterwards?

Okay, inside. So it should be painted? Ask a painter if this is possible: filling, then a primer, since that material absorbs very little, then instead of plaster, wall paint. Check with someone. Karsten
