Hello everyone, a few questions.
We have been thinking about building our own home for a while now and want to start brainstorming ideas and preliminary planning. We already have what feels like 1,000 brochures at home and are actively reading and gathering experiences from friends and family 😉
For us, there is no time pressure. I will soon officially own the plot of land, and there is no building deadline or obligation. Also, my parents' house is nearby, so we could stay there during construction. Just to give some background...
My first question is about basement construction. WU slab (waterproof concrete) or masonry? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
By the way, we are not in a flood-prone area, and the groundwater level is not high.
Cheers

Hello,
Does anyone have some experience to share?
My next question is how much we would roughly need to budget.
As mentioned, the plot will soon be purchased and will be paid for entirely with our own funds, without a loan. This means we only need financing for the house construction. It should be a single-family home, solid construction with a basement, two stories, about 130 - 140 m² (1400 - 1500 sq ft) of living space, and a double garage with access to the house.
What kind of costs should we expect for this?
Thanks

Take a look around this forum; you will find many answers to your question here. Repeating the same questions continuously doesn’t help anyone. 🙂
This question has already been answered many times here, but here we go again.
House with basement and built to KfW 70 efficiency standard – 235,000 EUR
Attached garage with access to the house – 16,500 EUR
Alternatively, prefabricated garage – 13,000 EUR
Additional construction costs – 35,000 EUR
This results in a total investment of about 286,500 EUR or 283,000 EUR plus reserves for extras such as higher-quality sanitary fixtures, a new kitchen, etc.
Kind regards
