Dear forum members,
We received the wrong kitchen appliance. The desired model is better and more expensive (and was paid for accordingly!). Instead, we got something much worse. We have filed a complaint. The retailer replied once to our email but has not responded to any further messages since. This has been going on for two months now. How should we proceed? Looking forward to good advice.
Best regards, Steffi33

We initially checked the goods upon delivery to ensure nothing was damaged. Everything was fine, and the appliance looked like what we had ordered. We could only install it later because the kitchen delivery was delayed. During the later installation, we noticed on the rating plate that we had received the wrong appliance... much lower capacity and much cheaper quality... Then our complaint process began.. 🙁
Hmm... I actually wanted to say that formal steps should always be preceded by an official letter when it comes to legal actions.
Online orders: of course, different rules apply compared to direct contact with a tradesperson.
What do you do in that case? Return it? How did you pay? Can you process a return? PayPal? Chargeback on direct debit?
I’ve never experienced that (fortunately).

Go to a lawyer and explain the case. You do not have a warranty claim here, but rather you received something different from what you ordered and paid for. It will cost you around 30 (currency) if the lawyer takes formal action. That is usually enough; otherwise, the lawyer will advise you on the next steps. It is not good to burden yourself with matters that professionals can handle better and more successfully. Karsten
