Hello everyone,

Last year, I successfully built my WPC deck.
After that, I re-established the lawn area and watered it thoroughly every day.
Unfortunately, I didn’t realize how high the iron content in the well water in the area is.
In the end, part of the deck was also watered because there was no other way.

Now I have a nice reddish/brown discoloration on half of the deck.
You can see it quite clearly in the photo. On the first board, there was another board placed the whole time, so it still has the original color.

My question is: Is there a cleaner that can remove this discoloration from WPC?
Maybe someone has a golden tip for me.

Thank you!

Please do the following:
Buy one or two packets of citric acid powder or granules from your local discount store.
Prepare 10 liters (2.6 gallons) of warm water and dissolve about two handfuls of citric acid in it.
Now take a scrub brush, dip it into the citric acid solution, and scrub the WPC decking boards in the direction of the longitudinal grooves.
Depending on the size of the area to be treated, it may be necessary to divide this process into two sections, as the cleaning solution should not dry out.
After scrubbing, rinse the treated area thoroughly with clean water or scrub it again with clean water. The rinse water should not be the iron-rich water that caused the deposits but should be tap water that has been treated by the water utility to remove manganese and iron (standard water treatment).
This should work!
