Since we are already discussing the planning of our house, how should one plan and build it? What is the current trend? Is it moving back towards solid or masonry construction? Or are prefabricated houses and similar options still popular?

Is it simply a cost issue? Those who can afford solid construction go for it, while others who don’t have the budget settle for prefabricated houses?

Is it simply a matter of cost? Those who can afford solid construction go for it, while others without money settle for prefabricated houses?

Prefabricated houses do not necessarily have to be inexpensive. Many architects design custom prefabricated houses that can be very upscale and correspondingly costly. Of course, choosing a standard model saves money compared to traditional construction methods.

The trend I see is towards solid prefabricated houses, but log homes are also becoming more popular... what is more important, however, is to focus on low energy consumption values, as this will become even more crucial in the future than it already is today.

The topic of energy values is very important, I completely agree...
The future valuation of houses will have a lot to do with this, and it shouldn’t be taken lightly. I would suggest it’s better to pay a bit more today and sleep well at night, without overthinking whether it’s a prefabricated house or a solid house.

The trend toward energy-efficient houses should not be underestimated and will play a very important role in the future...
Getting a brochure from the municipal office or online about this is a great tip to ensure your home will never be cold inside 😉

I would choose solid construction just for the soundproofing! We have a house like that ourselves. When the neighbors play loud music, I don’t hear anything at all! Simply great!
