Hello everyone,
We are currently considering the lighting for the worktop. Since we have only one upper cabinet, we plan to use the URail track system from Paulmann.
Maybe some of you have experience with this system.
If so, I would appreciate it if you could answer the following questions:
- Which spotlights do you use?
- Does the lighting sufficiently illuminate the worktop?
We planned to position the track 30cm (12 inches) from the front edge of the worktop. Is that correct?
If possible, could you also share some pictures so I can see how you have set it up?
Thank you.
Best regards,
Birgit

The materials are appropriate. Unfortunately, this is quite the opposite for all the possible attachments. Nevertheless, I continue to use it and also equip new rooms with it, as there is unfortunately no comparable system available on the market.

Are there no high-quality add-on components? There probably are, but for many parts (power inputs, connectors, switching actuators) you don’t get a choice and have to use the very overpriced pieces made from cheap plastic. It doesn’t help much if some of the light fixtures are higher quality (though probably still not cost-effective).
That said, I have chosen this system several times because it’s very flexible, makes later modifications or additions easy, and is visually unobtrusive.

pagoni202026 Aug 2020 12:50I also think that this Paulmann system is pretty decent; we have installed some of it here. Of course, you can also use products from Oligo, Erco, and others, but as always, it comes down to the price. You need to decide that beforehand. More, better, and more expensive is always an option.
