I want to insulate a wooden frame garden shed: walls and roof.
Construction methods from the outside:
- Cladding
- Support beams
In the attached image from Isover, the use of the vapor barrier foil is well explained:
- Cladding
- Insulation
- Foil
My question on this topic:
If rain hits the outer cladding, the insulation is then vulnerable to moisture if it gets in, for example, through small gaps in the wood.
So, in my inexperienced opinion, I thought that a moisture-repellent foil should be installed behind the outer cladding.
Would that damage the system?
I plan to occasionally heat the space with a wood stove when working inside.
Of course, this does not have to meet the standards of a residential house, but I want to avoid any mold problems caused by doing something wrong.
Please help! Thank you very much!
Best regards,
Jürgen
