What Do You Like Most? Why? Side driveway to garage, direct access from garage to house, separate apartment concept, open ground floor design, upper floor is perfect in our opinion, gallery
What Do You Like Least? Why? Living/dining area is somewhat too large (wife worries it may be hard to arrange cozily), bedroom window position in the separate apartment is tricky, (north entrance → long access route for guests)

Recessed entrance, For me, this is the clearest no-go for the entire house. No entrance can be so impressive that its hidden location—where you first have to walk around the house—doesn't make it less attractive than simply entering through the basement. As I said, I think people will probably assume the entrance at the back is for the secondary unit, and the "front door" next to the garage will be considered the main entrance.

In the attached sketch, I tried to implement your suggestions while also incorporating our room requirements. Please consider this sketch as a basis for discussion.
Basement: main entrance in the center, right side as a separate apartment, left side storage rooms
Ground floor: northwest office, opposite shower toilet, southwest living room, east-west kitchen and dining area, northeast pantry/storage room
Upper floor: bathroom in the top right, two children’s rooms below, in the southwest bedroom and dressing room, plus a small office which we might omit.
I look forward to further discussions.

Granny flat
Bedroom, bathroom are too dark
If it is intended for elderly parents or in-laws who may need care, please design the granny flat to be barrier-free and wheelchair accessible.
Please furnish the open plan living area first.
I don’t like the hallway/staircase.
Ground floor
I would plan the kitchen closer to the terrace. The living room will often have a closed roller shutter, for example when watching TV.
The stairway between the basement and ground floor somehow reminds me of a stairwell in an apartment building.
Upper floor
I don’t like the small galleries.
They don’t feel spacious and open, but they do transmit sound and odors.
I would arrange the rooms differently.
Walk-in closet – the large windows might please the neighbor.
Bedroom to bathroom is quite a walk.
The children’s room has an odd recess that would disappear without the gallery.

Thanks in advance for the feedback. We are still not 100% satisfied with the entrance situation, but it is definitely much better than before.
It would be helpful if the feedback included specific suggestions for improvement. Swapping the dining and living areas seems reasonable to me, but so far it doesn’t work out because the kitchen takes up 30m² (320ft²), and the living room could be a bit smaller. The gallery is not fixed in the house; the room layout is more important.
The main issue is that with the entrance in the basement level, either the separate apartment becomes even narrower or the garden area is lost.
