Hello everyone, we received some oiled sample staircases of the beech staircase today. We don’t want plain beech, as we find it a bit dull. What do you think fits best with vinyl flooring or what doesn’t match?
It will be a quarter-turn open staircase.

Yes, this "plank" is the floor. The kitchen is gray/white, and the doors are also white. I took another photo of the vinyl strip—the one lying on the carpet. I would have liked to have the stairs in a gray tone as well. However, I wonder if it would clash with the floor. Otherwise, I would have preferred the very left one the most.

Laminate floor planks lying on carpet, sample pieces indoors.

Another idea would be to tile the floor in the hallway and then use this staircase. What do you think about that?

uhm... that’s really a matter of personal taste, and it has to suit YOUR taste. I find tiles awful, so that wouldn’t be an option for me. But of course, I don’t live with you...

I really like tiles, at least in the hallway. ;-)

But yes: it’s your choice. I’m just assuming that tiles won’t cause any issues with floor height (they will probably be a few millimeters higher than vinyl? Has it been clarified whether there will be height differences at the transitions to vinyl?) and would therefore simply go with whatever you like best. :-)

From my point of view, that would be more of a "Plan A" than just another idea.

We will order the stairs now and choose the flooring to match later.
