Hello,
we would like to install a country-style oak plank floor over our warm water low-temperature underfloor heating system. This system is powered by a ground source heat pump. For example, the company Carlos Hahn states that their planks are suitable for warm water low-temperature underfloor heating.

Can I install the solid wood planks without any issues, or will there be disadvantages such as higher energy consumption, creaking wood, etc.?

Hello "SebZet".
Your question is unclear! If the manufacturer of the floorboards confirms that these boards are suitable even when used with a low-temperature underfloor heating system, then I wonder: who else could provide a more binding statement than the manufacturer themselves?

Hello Klaus, I’m asking because our contractor strongly advises against it, saying that wooden floorboards insulate too much and the geothermal heating system would have to work harder. I’ve also heard this from some wood specialists and now worry that the manufacturer just wants to make a sale. I would appreciate a statement about the additional heating demand compared to vinyl flooring.

Please request a product data sheet from the manufacturer that clearly states that the solid wood flooring they are promoting is suitable for low-temperature underfloor heating.
The product data sheet is then binding—and legally secure if it turns out not to work.
A contractor usually does not have detailed knowledge of specific material properties. The manufacturer of the respective product does!
And: the manufacturer is then liable.

@ Klaus: Thank you. However, I would still appreciate hearing about experiences.
