Hello,
we are considering installing wood-look tiles in our house (which is quite modern and open). I think these tiles, when well made, look really nice. I am just a bit skeptical whether I will still like them in a few years. Does anyone know a good manufacturer of wood-look tiles?

We are currently considering installing wood-look tiles in the living and dining areas. On one hand, they look very nice. Additionally, visitors can keep their shoes on if necessary. The common argument that tiles feel cold is countered by their high thermal conductivity combined with underfloor heating. An alternative, and previously our long-time favorite, was luxury vinyl flooring. However, concerns about plasticizers remain, especially when the floor is exposed to strong sunlight for extended periods.

Not only the sun, but also the heating constantly warms the vinyl...
And wearing street shoes is simply a key argument; likewise, tiles will not fade or will fade much less from UV exposure compared to wood or laminate.
Try putting a carpet on parquet for 5 years...

And even individual tiles can be easily replaced, you just need to have spare ones. I’m just wondering how a single pan could break 10 tiles at once???
If it falls on a "cross" pattern, at most 4 tiles would break, or do your acquaintances tend to misuse the pan during arguments?

Dropping kitchen utensils is my specialty. I sometimes have serious difficulties holding various objects securely. Some nerves and reflexes are severely damaged or no longer functional.
The vinyl flooring handles this without any issues.

The 10 tiles had small cracks and needed to be replaced after several years. They were always installed by a professional.

This is what our living room looks like with wood-effect tiles. One week after moving in, it was still a bit messy.

We would definitely do it again.

I like the tiles, but I like the tiles on the kitchen wall even more. Those are tiles, right?

Tomorrow I’ll take a photo of our brown tiles – they don’t have a wood look but might be an alternative for anyone considering options.
