I want to build a straight staircase for the attic access, where a guest room has been created. It has walls on both sides (a solid wall on the left and one made of OSB panels on the right). I have already started building a temporary version based on a staircase planner’s design.
Now I have a question regarding the sourcing of materials. Are there suppliers that specialize in stair tread wood as well as handrails and newel posts? I have read that glued laminated pine offers the best value for price and performance. Can you confirm this? Do you have recommendations for suppliers?
Best regards,
