ᐅ Attic windows excessively wet

Hello,

this morning after getting up, I noticed quite a lot of condensation on all the windows in the attic (4 floor-to-ceiling windows, 1 skylight). In the bedroom and bathroom (both on the east side), it was quite heavy. The other two rooms also had condensation, but not as much. On the ground floor, there was almost none—really just minimal.

I haven’t noticed this so much in previous years, only today and also a few times in the past days. Is this "normal"?

Thank you!

Around 45% relative humidity is, in my opinion, good. Some condensation can still occur on the windows, especially at night when the room cools down and the windows remain closed. Right after getting up, open the windows fully for about 5 minutes, or if it’s around -10°C (14°F), maybe just 3 minutes with cross-ventilation. This will remove a large part of the moisture. Doing this about three times a day would be quite effective. And don’t worry, it doesn’t use much energy—the room quickly returns to a comfortable temperature…

Ventilate several times from the top until the humidity reaches 45-50% and the condensation on the windows is gone. In the evening, ventilate before going to bed, and do not turn down the heating at night.
