ᐅ Windows have different sill heights – still within tolerance?

Hello everyone,

During the measurements for the kitchen, we noticed that the kitchen windows (around the corner) are unfortunately about 1.7 cm (0.7 inches) different in height. See photos.

Correcting this now (final inspection in about 4 weeks) seems practically impossible. Before I talk to the general contractor’s site manager, is there any standard (such as a DIN norm) regarding how much height variation is acceptable? I would like to be somewhat prepared for the conversation.

Thank you in advance!

P.S. If it cannot be corrected, what would be a reasonable claim? It wouldn’t really bother us much, but with the kitchen niche cladding, it looks extremely unattractive...

How is that achieved? Are those precast concrete elements?

Correctly identified, @Lumpi_LE
That naturally makes corrections practically impossible. Is this still within the standard, or what would be a reasonable requirement? Thanks in advance!

2 cm (0.8 inches) tolerances in precast concrete elements are standard; the relevant standards can be easily found with a quick search on Google.

Okay, thanks. I can find various DIN standards on the topic, but unfortunately not the section on tolerances...

But if 2cm (0.8 inches) is considered "normal," then I can forget about any form of compensation anyway.

This also happened to us. I thought something like this would be unlikely with prefabricated construction, but the specifications were misinterpreted in the structure, and the surprise came during the kitchen measurement.
