Hello,
Last week, we selected samples for the stairs and window sills. The standard material for the exterior window sills is pink beta. Our question now is whether aluminum window sills would be better or worse. They are probably more cost-effective, but we are mainly concerned about the noise level during rain and the streaks that form on the sides of the window sills due to rain and dirt. What are your experiences with this?
Best regards,
the A-team

You can't install windows on the insulation layer. "Can't" doesn't mean impossible. Just search for "installation of building components in the insulation layer" or "windows in the insulation layer." However, be careful—it requires careful and precise planning and execution! Make sure to ask for references and only hire contractors who have experience with this method...

What are your experiences with this? It has rained quite a bit on our aluminum window sills by now. I haven't noticed any issues. Maybe it's due to the triple glazing... ;-).
You should choose the window sill that you like best visually. Or go by price... I consider the type of exterior window sill to be one of the less important aspects in a single-family home. It's six of one, half a dozen of the other... The main thing is that it’s properly and flawlessly installed, especially regarding waterproofing and the connection to the facade.
