Hello,
Last week, we selected samples for the stairs and window sills. The standard material for the exterior window sills is pink beta. Our question now is whether aluminum window sills would be better or worse. They are probably more cost-effective, but we are mainly concerned about the noise level during rain and the streaks that form on the sides of the window sills due to rain and dirt. What are your experiences with this?

Best regards,

the A-team

I want to briefly repurpose the topic: What do you think about installing the windows flush with the exterior wall and skipping the window sills? I don’t like them at all, not even inside—for example, with wood but definitely not with granite (unless it matches the interior design)...

Misusing the second post is definitely not acceptable...

I would choose granite; to me, it looks more valuable, and I haven’t heard any complaints about it (unlike aluminum).

Hi,
we currently have aluminum window sills and have never had any issues. We will use the same for the new build. In my opinion, they also look much better than granite "rosa beta." However, this is really a matter of personal preference.

Best regards,

@Karlstraße
Placing windows directly on the insulation is not possible.

And the "dirt streaks" that always form under the granite window sills?
