Hello everyone,
According to our building contract, the exterior window sills will be made of aluminum. For an additional cost, it is also possible to get granite window sills. I have always been against aluminum window sills because I am worried that you will constantly hear the rain hitting the aluminum.
What have your experiences been, or what did you install?

Hello "Tommes78".
The typically quite thin metal window sills are always installed on an acoustic mat.
Direct dripping water (which ideally should not occur due to the drip edge installed parallel to your window) will only produce a dull impact sound acoustically.
Of course, I am not familiar with your specific "acoustic comfort thresholds," but under normal conditions, the aforementioned measure should be sufficient.
At least that is my personal experience!
