We have just received two quotes for windows. The building is an industrial facility undergoing renovation. There are 20 units, triple-glazed, approximately 1.60m x 1.20m (5.25 ft x 3.94 ft) including installation, white, with the same safety ratings.

Quote 1: about 35,000 Euros.
Quote 2: about 9,000 Euros.

That can’t be right? Is there some mistake? Did the second company make an error? Think again!
Quote 2 is from a German company offering windows sourced from Poland. Quote 1 is for windows made in Germany.

Thank you for the quick reply; that sounds very interesting. How did you come across the company—was it by chance, or did you already know they work with Polish windows? I’m wondering how to find similar companies in my area without having to contact each one blindly to request quotes.

Polish windows? Drutex Gdańsk. They should also have representatives in Baden-Württemberg. Drutex is affordable and offers decent quality.

Are there any recommended sources for Polish windows? I would order them directly if possible or necessary, but I lack reliable contacts.

I am still connected with some window manufacturers; however, the term "Polish" only applies to the factory (they produce Kömmerling profiles), and in my opinion, "reliable" excludes direct delivery to end customers. I am happy to connect you but do not have an installer “on hand” in Baden-Württemberg.

I have also read about the price difference between Poland and Germany. Does anyone have a recommendation for roof windows including installation for the Saxony-Anhalt area?
Best regards,

Recommendation for roof windows

Because there are significantly more standard windows and the construction of roof windows is probably more complex, I believe the major Polish companies do not manufacture roof windows. Regardless of the manufacturer, I would not rely on the questionable foreign-speaking crew wearing sweatpants for installation, but rather on a likely somewhat more expensive local tradesperson. These local professionals also often offer windows made in Poland.

I am not familiar with any either – however, it is not the construction method but the installation that is more complex.

I don’t know what kind of "quality" you encounter with Polish workers on construction sites in the eastern (not in the sense of former East Germany, but referring to areas closer to Poland) federal states. But in the western (not in the sense of former West Germany, but referring to areas closer to Benelux) federal states, I have never seen Polish workers wearing sweatpants on site. In NRW/RLP/HES, Polish tradespeople are generally exemplary, precise workers (and leave clean construction sites).
