Hello everyone,

I am new here and currently building with a construction company. Today, an acquaintance of ours visited the site to measure the front door because we are not having it installed by the construction company but obtaining it from him and his employer. This acquaintance, who is also a window installer, criticized the windows installed by the construction company. He believed that sealing tape should be applied around the entire window frame. In our entire house and in other houses built by this company, it is only applied at the bottom. I have attached a photo. Now we are uncertain whether this installation method is still correct and whether window installers simply use different installation methods, which might still be acceptable. Additionally, he thought that for large windows, a bracket should have been installed in the middle. At the moment, the window can be wobbled with moderate force at the central mullion. Any information on this would be appreciated!

The acquaintance is also right about the membrane.
It must be installed on all four sides.
What type of facade will you have?
Plaster, brick veneer, wood cladding?

What can also be seen in the picture is that the windows are not properly fastened.

Do you possibly have a picture showing the exact fastening?

There is a plaster stop bead installed. Once the reveal is plastered, the window will also be airtight on the inside.
I didn’t understand the part about the wobbling.

Please take proper photos in sufficient quantity! It doesn’t cost anything anymore unless you scan printed or developed photos 🙄

I agree with @superzapp. It would definitely be helpful if you added clearly more relevant pictures. That way, you’ll likely receive better assistance.

The windows must be installed with sealing tape all around. The roller shutter box also needs to be sealed with sealing tape. Additionally, it looks like the windows are only foamed in the insulation layer and are attached merely with clips. This is incorrect; windows must be firmly connected to the masonry. How is the weight supported downward?
