Hello everyone,

So far, our building specifications include standard window handles made of plastic. Naturally, we prefer the version with stainless steel handles much more.

Is it possible to simply remove the handles on modern windows and retrofit new stainless steel handles? It shouldn’t be a problem since you can also install handles with locks on patio doors, for example.

Is there a catch to this? It feels like it would be more cost-effective this way, doesn’t it?

I really appreciate tactile quality, meaning I understand what it implies. That’s why I have a wooden front door... but when it comes to a door or window handle that is only used a few times a year, decency ends and disproportion begins. This falls into the category of golden faucets... unless someone can show me a photo example of the difference.

Do you also have white plastic handles on your white interior doors? Or stainless steel ones?

What matters is what you prefer! Order the blank ones at the same time. They will only cost a little extra. Our white ones from Roto also have a steel inlay. The blank exterior may cost a few euros more. K.

Currently, as a tenant who avoids "structural changes," I actually have white doors and wouldn’t mind white fittings on them. I currently have natural metal silver on the door handles, which I also had in my previous apartment on dark brown wooden windows. At my school, back then, there were aluminum windows with metal handles in the same dark brown tone.

HEWI is not cheap and doesn’t look cheap either, and I quite like it white on white; however, for me, nothing beats FSB when it comes to door handles.
