So far, our building specifications include standard window handles made of plastic. Naturally, we prefer the version with stainless steel handles much more.
Is it possible to simply remove the handles on modern windows and retrofit new stainless steel handles? It shouldn’t be a problem since you can also install handles with locks on patio doors, for example.
Is there a catch to this? It feels like it would be more cost-effective this way, doesn’t it?

Fittings, locking mechanisms, handles: these are generally supplied parts for windows that the profile manufacturer/processor/assembler does not produce themselves. However, there can be a significant price difference, so customers without special requirements usually receive the standard basic frame. Of course, these components are modular and standardized, making them generally easy to replace; in principle, they can also be sourced elsewhere, but I would recommend getting the upgrade directly from the window supplier.
