Hello,

I have a question.
The window installer forgot to shorten the frame back then (see picture).
By now, the external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS) has already been glued on, and only afterward did I notice it. The frame was shortened afterward, which left a gap.
I had to call the plasterer to attach a piece of perimeter insulation there.

He charged me about 100€.
Now my question is: I understand that I shouldn’t have to pay since I did not cause the mistake.
Who is liable for this, the window installer? Or should the exterior plasterer have noticed it earlier?

The fact is, I am not willing to pay the 100€.

Thank you very much in advance

How much do you value stress, effort, and free time?
More or less than 100 euros?

If there is time, you can make the call or write the letter. That is probably worth 100€. But if nothing comes of it, then it was probably a learning experience.

He who orders the music pays.

Since we do not know with whom you have concluded which contracts, and possibly you are building with a general contractor (GC) or trade builder (TB) – in that case, you do not have the right to summon the craftsmen to the construction site – we cannot give you a definitive answer.

Best regards in brief
