ᐅ Window layout with two-thirds fixed glazing and one-third operable sections

When I look at windows that I like, they don’t have a centered opening but rather a 1/3 to 2/3 ratio. I’ve seen this ratio both in windows with sill heights and in narrow windows (e.g., bathrooms). Does anyone have this? Is my estimated ratio correct? Since I would like to offset the frame from the sash to make the window divisions narrower, I would fix the glass on one side and use the other side to open – does that work? Any experience?

Exactly, an overview of the garden is important because it borders an open field on our property. In case anything happens or similar.

I only mean in case something flies onto our property or something else happens, since it is still completely open at the moment.

Your observation is correct.
Visually, the window is not divided equally, but follows the golden ratio (1/3 and 2/3 rule).
