ᐅ Window layout with two-thirds fixed glazing and one-third operable sections

When I look at windows that I like, they don’t have a centered opening but rather a 1/3 to 2/3 ratio. I’ve seen this ratio both in windows with sill heights and in narrow windows (e.g., bathrooms). Does anyone have this? Is my estimated ratio correct? Since I would like to offset the frame from the sash to make the window divisions narrower, I would fix the glass on one side and use the other side to open – does that work? Any experience?

I’m completely lost here — and that’s saying something given my professional background.

The so-called "golden ratio" is timelessly popular and approximately 61.8% to 38.2% division.

I think it depends on the intended use.
For example, in our utility room, where we also hang laundry, the smaller part is fixed and the larger part is an opening sash.
This way, the humid air can escape much faster, and even when tilted, the volume for dehumidifying is larger.

If it’s not too late, we also have similar windows in the kitchen and bathroom.
We preferred the look this way, and the dimensions fit better.
They also have a mullion, meaning there is no frame in the middle, so the window can be fully opened.
I’ve attached a picture as well.

What is that beam above the lift-and-slide door? And is that a light outlet (?) under the gable?

To be honest, I’m not sure what that batten is for — maybe as a support?
A camera is going to be installed directly under the roof, with lamp outlets on the right and left sides.

What do you want to use the camera for? It’s too high for people or facial recognition. For simply keeping an overview of the garden, it’s fine.
