Hello,
How is this possible? North-facing and no physical impact, the window is 8 years old.
We have no idea, of course. There is a heat lamp for the changing table nearby—could it be caused by that? It should actually be 20cm (8 inches) lower, not at this height, but okay...
Is this just a cosmetic defect? (It is in the nursery.)

How old is the window? If it’s still under warranty, contact the window installer.
Otherwise, could there be some kind of lens effect inside? Something that caused the frame to melt?
It’s all clearly stated. Fail, 6 😀
Maybe from the moon? 😀

The window is 8 years old.
A few weeks ago, the electric radiant heater was accidentally directed at it for about 5 minutes on a low setting, but actually more towards the handle area. The handle was turned away, and I didn’t notice at first because the baby was so active and also had made a mess 😀

Maybe that was enough for the weakest point to start breaking. Who knows… it looks bad but probably has no impact.

The baby roaster is probably the most likely cause. Otherwise, where would the necessary heat on the north side come from?
The glass could also have easily shattered.

The ONLY one!

@TE: You seem to be joking.

Alright, but you could have thought of that earlier! Just kidding. So, I won’t do anything about it now; it is what it is.

That settles the case, Sherlock.
