ᐅ Are the windows installed according to regulations?

we want to build in an area where several houses are already standing. Now the neighbors have told us that all windows here must be uniform. Can the rest of the street really dictate what type of windows we are allowed to install? This was not mentioned during the planning phase, and the architect never said anything about it!

if the windows match the style of the house, no one can tell you what you have to install. It might be that people want to create a uniform appearance, but what comes next? If the windows have to be uniform, will you then only be allowed to plant trees or plants that everyone else has? I would never go along with something like that because I want to stay free in my decisions!!!
