ᐅ Why does my Malm bed still wobble even after tightening the screws?

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my IKEA Malm bed that I assembled in the past few weeks. Despite tightening the screws several times, the bed still wobbles noticeably, especially when turning over or sitting on it.
I have checked all the connections, and all screws are tight, but the wobbling remains. I especially notice some instability at the joints between the slatted frame and the bed frame.
I’m wondering if the problem might be related to the design, or if I am overlooking something. Are there specific areas that should be reinforced additionally? Sometimes I feel that even slight material play or minor irregularities in the boards could be affecting the stability.
Does anyone have experience with this model or any advice on what I could do to make the bed more stable? Thanks in advance!

I would like to know if the problem might be due to the construction itself or if I am overlooking something.Let me summarize and add a practical tip:
The IKEA Malm series has a simple but sometimes unstable joining system, which is influenced mainly by two factors: the precision during assembly and the quality of the materials.
When assembling, it is important that:
- screws and dowels have no loose ends
- all wooden parts lie flat against each other
- the central beam/solid wood crosspiece is correctly positioned and secured
My tip: loosen the screws and check the dowel holes for any tears or looseness. If present, you can fix wooden dowels using a bit of wood glue.
Additionally, metal brackets, which can be discreetly attached on the inside, have proven effective in such wobbly situations by providing stronger lateral stability. This is not necessarily an IKEA standard but is a durable solution.
In conclusion, a certain minimal flexibility in particleboard constructions can be normal, but there should be no permanent wobbling. If you find nothing wrong, it may be worth contacting customer service or consulting a specialist retailer.
