I recently assembled a Brimnes chest of drawers from Ikea, but the drawers immediately got stuck after being inserted. I’m curious about the common causes of this issue since I followed the instructions exactly.

My guess is that it might be related to the precise alignment of the drawer slides or the screw connections, but I would like to hear your experiences and advice.

Are there any known weak points or peculiarities with the BRIMNES that cause the drawers to stick? If so, how can this be reliably prevented or fixed?

Exactly, I can only confirm that. Especially with BRIMNES, it’s important that the carcass is assembled perfectly square. Even a minimal misalignment can cause the drawers to not slide smoothly or to stick.

When checking the rails with a ruler or a spirit level, you can often spot these small deviations.
