Hello everyone, I’ve noticed that some drawers of my Ikea Brimnes wardrobe start to squeak noticeably after some time, even though I haven’t changed anything unusual. I’m particularly interested in why this squeaking seems to happen quite often with the BRIMNES drawers, even though the fittings and slides are basically functional and simply designed. Are there common causes like material fatigue, lack of lubrication, or friction due to the design? And maybe someone already has durable solutions or tips to prevent or permanently eliminate this squeaking? I would really appreciate expert opinions so I can address the problem effectively.

Just apply some silicone spray or a special lubricant to the tracks

That’s coming from a pro! ? People often forget that furniture needs maintenance—even if it’s from Ikea. The Brimnes drawers are actually quite sturdy, but without lubrication: it’s a real noise problem. And not a pleasant one. If you use any liquid, make sure it’s non-sticky, or it will only get worse. Silicone spray is definitely the best tip here.
