That is why I mentioned that you should go through with it if you want certainty about the basement.

And that’s why I also added that you should take a stone sample if you want certainty about the walls. And if you need even more assurance, you can also take samples from the window frames and glass, etc.

What I mean to say is that in single-family home construction, this is not something to ignore. A waterproof concrete basement involves much more than just the composition of the concrete.

It is optional; we simply did not do it
And in what specific ways do you now regret that decision?

In quality-related matters like these, I also see the site manager or Bonum as responsible. In the end, it should be in everyone's interest that everything fits correctly at completion and even after 10 years.

Specifically regarding Bonum, I’m not sure whether their self-perception is closer to that of a construction director or more like a contractor coordinator. Generally, such expectations can only be directed at an architect site manager or must explicitly be included in the contract if it’s a construction expert providing support during the build. If you are dealing with a contractor’s "site manager," you are dealing with the wrong party twice over — firstly, because their level of support is often comparable to a customer service agent at an employment office. Naturally, that is a world of difference from a “chief physician treatment in a private room.”

Brief update

We now have several house construction offers on the table. All of them include site supervision. In two of the sales discussions, it was also mentioned that the site supervisor has insurance coverage. I was always told that the site supervisor also controls quality and, in the worst case, is liable for it.

Here in the forum, however, it sounds more like the site supervisor only handles coordination and aims for a quick completion of the build.
