Hello,
we want to buy a small hot tub for the garden. Not from China or overseas, we have chosen Wellis, which manufactures in Hungary. The size will be 2 by 2 meters (6.5 by 6.5 feet), or possibly a model a few centimeters (inches) larger.
Now we are wondering if an integrated Bluetooth sound system is really necessary. It costs about 950 € extra. During the very good consultation, we forgot to ask about it, but it was added as an extra cost in the offer.
Who owns a smaller hot tub with a sound system and actually uses it? Or is it a "nice to have" feature that just ends up unused?

Grolsch3030 Apr 2020 01:44We are planning to buy a Treesse Zen hot tub and a swim spa in about 3 to 4 years.
A quick question about heating:
We are currently renovating our house, and when we install a new heating system (ground source heat pump), the heat pump is also supposed to heat the hot tub and later the swim spa. If both have a 3kW heater, should I simply add 6kW heating load to the house’s heating demand and then size the heat pump accordingly?

I would also be quite cautious about the idea of using the heat pump for this. Especially when operating in colder environments, you really need the integrated heating element to compensate for heat loss. Otherwise, the water gets cold very quickly, and the fun ends prematurely.
On top of that, you have to consider the additional investment – a suitable heat exchanger alone costs around €500 (about $550) in materials, plus piping, labor, and a larger heat pump... this adds up noticeably to a four-figure amount, by which time you could have been heating the hot tub "conventionally" for a while.
Regarding filtration, does it actually still work with chlorine? I’ve seen many products using ozone/UV systems.
I would love to have a hot tub as well. What bothers me is the idea of using nearly as much electricity for the hot tub as for heating the entire house...

The electricity costs really discourage me. That’s why, for now, a hot tub basin will have to be enough for us.
