Hello everyone,

I am slowly approaching the decision regarding exterior window sills.

What are your experiences with aluminum, plastic (uPVC), or granite?
Rough or smooth surface?
What should I budget per m² (square meter)?

The location is western Münsterland, which I assume also plays a role in pricing.

Regarding the appearance: All our windows and doors are in RAL 7016, and we have very dark red glazed roof tiles. The house has a standard roof overhang and a dark red brick façade with some dark gray stones mixed in.

If desired, I can gladly upload pictures of the house.

Thank you all for your help!

Okay, here is a picture of the current actual condition.

Construction site: red brick house with scaffolding, orange roof tiles, and construction fences.

There are users who prefer not to use an external site to view a photo. You can also upload a photo directly here.

I suspected as much. However, I can’t upload pictures via my phone because they are simply too large. I will upload them tomorrow. Sorry!

So far, we have always had granite window sills and have been very satisfied with them. Aluminum is also quite common here and looks good, but you have to be careful not to scratch it. Brick-clad houses often have window sills made from the same bricks.

Sabine
