Hello everyone,
I’m planning to get the IKEA Platsa system and want to secure it as safely and permanently as possible. I’m especially interested in which mounting methods work best for IKEA Platsa, particularly when fixing the modules to the wall.
I’ve read that there are different options, such as anchors and screws, as well as special wall brackets from IKEA. Since the system is modular, the correct fastening seems crucial for stability and safety.
I’m looking forward to your recommendations and experiences, especially if anyone has directly compared different options. Are there any tips regarding wall materials or weight categories that I should consider?
Thanks in advance!

I installed my Platsa system a year ago on a mixed wall (partly plaster, partly concrete) using only the IKEA wall brackets and heavy-duty anchors – it holds absolutely securely!
The key is to carefully plan the anchor points before installation. I also screwed the modules together twice each, which makes everything extremely stable and prevents any wobbling.
My advice: confidently take on the wall; with the right materials, it’s a great experience and the result looks both neat and professional. Good luck!

The best way to secure IKEA Platsa largely depends on the wall material. That was exactly the key point for me! Thanks for the clear breakdown.
One more question for everyone: How do the modules hold together when stacked? Is the connection between the modules alone sufficient, or should additional screws be used here as well?
